Boy Scout Troop
333 of Boca Raton, FL is one of the most successful troops in South
Florida, with a strong program, strong leaders, and enthusiastic
young men. The program achieves the
Boy Scouts of America's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal
fitness. We welcome you to our website!
Troop 333 is
a scout-run troop. The scouts learn to plan and run the troop under
the supervision of the adult leaders. We conduct 6-8 campouts each
school year, a week of local summer camp, and often an additional
week of out-of-state summer camp. These events are funded through
our one fundraiser, the Annual Spaghetti Dinner. The boys sell
tickets to the event and earn escrow money which pays their way
through scouting. This teaches the boys responsibility for earning
their way.
The Boy
Scouts of America maintains that no member can grow into the best
kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God and,
therefore, recognizes the religious element in the training of its
members, but it is absolutely nonsectarian in its attitude toward
that religious training. The Troop is chartered out of the First
Presbyterian Church of Boca Raton, FL (
http://www.firstpresboca.org/ ),
which provides a permanent meeting facility to run our program.
However, scouts of all ethnic and religious backgrounds are welcome.
The
success of any troop is based on active parental support…it has be
proven time and time again that “no boy makes Eagle Scout without an
active parent behind them”. The expectation is that all parents
contribute their time to helping run the troop. It is true that by
the time your son is 8 years old, you will have spent over half the time
you will every spend with him throughout his whole life. Make the most
of your time.
Troop 333 continues
to seek out exciting and meaningful activities to help build character
in the scouts. We are dedicated to providing a high quality scouting
program in Troop 333, and we truly believe that a key part of our
success is the strong support in our community. If you have
questions, or are interested in joining Troop 333, please email us from
our Contacts page. Respectfully yours, Scoutmaster, Troop 333 |
